PULSE METHOD FOR THE STUDY OF THE RATES OF SOLID-GAS PHASE HETEROGENEOUS REACTIONS IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE CHROMATOGRAPHIC ANALYSIS OF PRODUCTS (PULSNI METODA PRO STUDIUM RYCHLOSTI HETEROGENNICH REAKCI PEVNA-PLYNNA FAZE VE SPOJENI S CHROMATOGRAFICKOU ANALYSOU PRODUKTU),

Abstract

The authors designed an apparatus which facilitates the study of reaction kinetics of gases passing through a layer of a solid reactant. When the reaction rate is too fast to allow a study with a continuous gas stream it is an advantage to introduce the gas in several interrupted doses. The apparatus is designed so that it is possible to determine several substances simultaneously when the analyzed mixture is passed through a chromatographic column. Use of the apparatus in the study of methanol oxidation on a mixture of Fe2O3 and MoO3 catalyst is described. The accuracy of the method is plus or minus 10%. (Author)
