USER MANUAL FOR THE FINITE ELEMENT PROGRAM OF STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS.

Abstract

This report describes the use of a computer program to perform an elastic analysis of complex structural components or their assemblage. The program is a modification of one originally developed by Professor J. R. Paulling, Department of Naval Architecture, University of California, Berkeley, California. Good engineering results can be obtained by judicious application of finite element techniques, where a real structure is idealized into discrete plate or bar elements whose composition is admissible to efficient matrix operation. Input instructions are described and illustrative examples are included. (Author)
