TEST RESULTS REPORT FOR IOC 65-2 ERECTION EQUIPMENT, WS 107A,

Abstract

The IOC 65-2 Erection Mechanism equipment represents an entirely new concept in receiving and erecting a missile to the vertical position. In order to accomplish this task various unqualified steel structures, hydraulically and mechanically operated equipment, and electrical equipment were utilized. Consequently, Pre-production Testing was requested by the Ground Handling Design Group to qualify the designed capabilities of the IOC 65-2 equipment. The test objectives were: To verify the equipments functional capability under operating loads; To proof load the specimen to substantiate the structural integrity of the equipment; To subject the specimen to environmental rain and radio interference tests and check operational capability.
