TEST OF MERCURY CAPSULE UMBILICAL RELEASE, WS107A,

Abstract

Test request was initiated by the Launcher and Mechanisms Design Group, to determine the ejection characteristics of the Mercury umbilical release. Special concern of this installation was the 90 degree mislocation of the mounting on the capsule which necessitated an awkward wrap-around of the electric cable and a 55 degree pull angle on the mechanical release.
