Abstract

A translation of the 1902 classic in nutrition and temperature regulation physiology, previously unavailable in English. The monograph presents the original research in specific dynamic effect of food, the surface law of cooling, the effect of heat and cold on nutrition and temperature regulation, the effect of clothing and insulation on temperature regulation, and on physical and chemical aspects of thermoregulation.
