THRESHOLD FUNCTIONS AS DECISION CRITERIA IN SATURATION SIGNALING.

Abstract

A modification to saturation signaling is proposed which seeks to retain all of the desirable attributes of this technique while (a) reducing the search traffic loading, (b) reducing 'bottlenecks' in the network, and (c) uniformly loading the network. A similar experiment is performed to test the validity of the modification in the case of a relatively simple, but significant, idealized network and traffic sequence. (Author)
