RELIABLE FLAT CABLE CONNECTOR.

Abstract

Seven flat cable conductor-contact interfaces were examined under this program and four selected for further testing and evaluation to determine the best features of each to be incorporated into the design of an improved flat cable connector. Difficulties in measuring the resistance of a complex conductor-contact interface with precision are described, and selection of test equipment is discussed. An evaluation test procedure has been written and a computerized data analysis program prepared and tested. In addition, scanning equipment for automatic data acquisition has been developed.
