SEROLOGICAL STUDY OF ANTAGONISTIC STREPTOMYCES BY FLUORESCENTLY LABELED ANTIBODY TECHNIQUE,

Abstract

The possibility of using the fluorescently labeled protein technique for the serological identification of antibiotics at the early stages of screening was discussed in a previous paper. This paper discusses some basic studies with this technique using several known streptomyces which produce anti-tumor antibiotics together with the description of efforts at early identification employing this technique. With the exception of several fungi with very strong spontaneous agglutination tendency, the fluorescent technique and agglutination titers were nearly equal. (Author)
