A THREE-AXIS, TRIPLE-REDUNDANT RATE SENSING TECHNIQUE.

Abstract

An engineering model of a three-axis, triple-redundant rate sensing package which fully exploits the unique characteristics and very small size of the DART fluid rotor rate gyro was designed, fabricated, and evaluated under this program. The package utilizes five, dual-axis DARTS to provide limited-range, triple-redundant, three-axis rate signals for stability-augmentation applications, plus extended range, non-redundant, three-axis rate signals for attitude-reference applications.
