IMMUNIZATION WITH ANTIGENIC FRACTIONS,

Abstract

The report is concerned with the separation of the cellular fractions that are responsible for immunity, i.e., the study of the mechanism of immunity in brucelloses. Immunization through cellular fractions offers all of the advantages of killed vaccines over live vaccines and makes it possible to prepare vaccines that will not have any toxicity and that will not produce any agglutinins in the vaccinated organism. The absence of toxicity presupposes that the toxic and immunizing fractions can be separated; if this is the case, then more concentrated vaccines, hence more immunogenic vaccines could be prepared.
