CATHODOLUMINESCENCE OF ZNO.
Abstract
A cathodoluminescence system, employing a Steigerwald electron gun with an oxide-cored cathode, was designed and constructed to study electron-beam stimulated emission from zinc oxide (ZnO) in the region 3600-4000 A. The emission was studied at liquid helium and liquid nitrogen temperatures and under varying excitation intensities. The observed emission lines are interpreted as arising from exciton transitions and carrier recombination. (Author)
