THE DETERIORATION OF MOLASSES IN STORAGE,

Abstract

It has been known for a long time that molasses in storage undergoes progressively a decrease in the percentage of its principal components, causing serious losses in the manufacture of alcohol, rum, etc. There are two causes for these changes: (a) the presence of microorganisms, and, (b) autogenous chemical reactions.
