FLUORESCENCE MICROSCOPE OBSERVATIONS OF TRICHOMONAS VAGINALIS TREATED WITH ACRIDINE ORANGE

Abstract

Forms of the protozoan were observed which showed greater or lesser degrees of mobility and others which remained immobile. The forms in motion showed brilliant green coloration of the cytoplasm and of the flagella, with a clearly evident nucleus having a lighter coloration and sometimes with cytoplasmatic granulations having a red-orange color. The immobile forms, instead, stood out as a result of a red-orange to copper-red coloration of the cytoplasm with a yellow nucleus of varying brightness.
