OZONE IN FREON FOR DECONTAMINATING ATMOSPHERE IN LARGE ROOMS,

Abstract

It is possible to counteract the infectious activity of virus present in the air (Myxovirus multiformis), even in high concentrations (about 10 to the eighth power per cubic meter) by means of ozone at concentrations on the border of 0.00001 (in volume). Sterilization is obtained in less than five minutes if the concentration is greater than 2.00001. These results hold good only for a tank made of stainless steel, without any material that might fix or destroy the ozone, with a hygrometric level close to 80 per one hundred, at a temperature of about 22C.
