Abstract

Aldol condensations of acetylferrocene and 1-acetyl-1 prime -benzoylferrocenes with various aromatic aldehydes were investigated. 1-acetyl-1 prime -benzoylferrocene is more active than 1-acetyl-ferrocene. The ferrocene analogues of chalcones obtained in this manner were studied by means of polarography. The semiwave potentials of chalcones prepared in this manner do not depend on the nature of the substituent. (Author)
