EVALUATION OF THE SUNBEAM ION THRUSTMETER.

Abstract

Ion currents were measured in the exhaust stream of two turbojet engines and plotted versus engine thrust. Tests were run on a J52-P-8 engine at sea level, and a J79-GE-8 engine at sea level and altitude. Excitation polarity and voltage were varied. A reference burner for fuel and altitude compensation was evaluated. (Author)
