ROCKET OZONESONDE (ROCOZ)-DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT

Abstract

The report describes the theory and design of an optical ozonesonde system developed for use on Arcas rockets. The payload is an ultraviolet filter photometer useful in the altitude range 20 to 60 km. A real-time digital data logging system has been constructed for recording the data that are telemetered on the 1680 mHz meteorological frequency. Data-processing procedures are described and results of a test flight are presented.
