RECONNAISSANCE WEATHER PLANNING FACTORS FOR FAIR WEATHER SYSTEMS.

Abstract

No existing high resolution reconnaissance sensor can penetrate clouds. This study is directed toward providing weather synopses that will be useful to reconnaissance systems users, planners, and designers. It contains information on the percent of time a ceiling exists at or above specific altitudes for specific time periods. This information is plotted by month and then by time of day on a year-long basis. The report is on Southeast Asia (SEA) Area 1, one of three areas into which SEA was divided for purposes of this study, and concerns itself with daylight hour time periods only. Subsequent reports will include specifics on the hours of darkness for Area 1 and around-the-clock data for SEA Areas 2 and 3. Similar treatments will be issued on other parts of the world as material becomes available. (Author)
