ALKALI METAL VAPOR STUDIES,

Abstract

Alkali vapor arc lamps belong to the most efficient class of thermal light sources. Basically, a light source performs more efficiently when a large number of spectral lines with high transition probability is emitted in the spectral region near the maximum of the Planck curve corresponding to the light source temperature. This condition is closely approximated by alkali vapor arcs. (Author)
