THE BARIUM OXIDE MOLECULAR BEAM TUBE, A NEW TYPE OF HIGH PRECISION FREQUENCY SOURCE,

Abstract

The theoretical bases, design details, and initial experimental results are presented for a small, lightweight frequency control device. The device employs the lowest rotational transition from J=1 to J=0 in the vibrational ground state of the BaO molecule. A frequency accuracy approaching 10 to the -13 power is anticipated.
