GROUND STATE WAVE FUNCTIONS FOR THE AZIDE ION (N3-),

Abstract

The azide ion N3(-) is metastable and subject to thermal and photolytic decomposition. Consequently, it is an important constituent of explosive substances such as lead azide Pb(N3)2, a sensitive primary or initiating explosive of considerable importance for munitions and mining applications.
