Abstract
The article has a two-fold purpose: (a) to define, describe and analyze the mechanism of lethal H action, and its prevention and reversal, at the molecular, subcellular, cellular and tissue levels and (b) to illustrate the value of basic and fundamental research as a practical approach for solving practical problems.
