ABSORPTION AND SCATTERING OF QUANTUM-MECHANICALLY COHERENT RAYS. II. INTERACTION WITH N ATOMS (ABSORPTION UND STEUUNG QUANTENMECHANISCH KOHARENTER STRAHLEN. II. WECHSELWIRKUNG MIT N ATOMEN),

Abstract

The absorption and scattering of a quantum-mechanically coherent light ray on idealized atoms was investigated to establish whether there are any changes in the coherence characteristics of the radiation field. The results of the investigations showed that the relative reduced scattering, determining the coherence behavior, of the electrical field strength in the radiation field remains substantially unchanged under conditions of absorption and reflection.
