SOLUTION OF OPTIMAL CONTROL PROBLEMS USING HYBRID COMPUTERS.

Abstract

By employing Pontryagin's maximum principle, the problem of finding optimal control for a system described by n first order simultaneous differential equations is reduced to a two point boundary value problem. Two schemes for solution of these problems on an iterative hybrid computer are given along with a discussion of the advantages of each. (Author)
