The Effect of Anisotropy and Reorientation of Principal Stresses on the Shear Strength of Saturated Clay

Abstract

The objectives of the investigation are to establish the fundamental nature of the anisotropy of saturated clays with respect to undrained strength, and to evaluate the practical significance of anisotropy and reorientation of the principal stresses in short-term stability problems.
