CANCEROLOGY. IMMUNOFLUORESCENCE STUDY OF THE RIBOSOMIC ANTIGENS IN THE ABDOMINAL CELLS OF MICE,

Abstract

Antiribosome antibodies from mouse abdominal cells were conjugated with fluorescein isothiocyanate. These fluorescent antibodies demonstrated the ribosomic antibodies in cytoplasm and a smaller quantity of the antibody in the nucleus of fixed abdominal cells. The results obtained showed that the antiribosome antibodies, by direct or indirect method, demonstrated the ribosomic antigens in the cytoplasm. These fluorescent antibodies also adhere to the nucleus, which confirms the existence of nuclear ribosomes recently demonstrated by biochemical methods. These latter seem to be in a definitely smaller quantity than in the cytoplasm. (Author)
