GAS-METAL REACTION KINETICS BY PULSED BEAM-MASS SPECTROMETRY.

Abstract

The apparatus for and technique of the study of gas-metal reactions producing volatile products by modulated beam-mass spectrometry is described. Application to the study of tungsten and molybdenum at high temperatures (above 1800K) and low oxygen pressures is related. Results are discussed in terms of reaction mechanisms and specific rates are determined, where possible. (Author)
