Abstract

Contents: Historical survey and purpose of the investigation; Method of investigation -- method of culture of germinating mycelia, culture of some uredinales on young wheat plants; Distribution and significance of the phototropism of germinating mycelia -- confirmation of older data, examination of eight additional uredinales, probable meaning of negative phototropism for the occurrence of infection; Analysis of the stimulus physiology of the reaction -- the minimum effective illumination intensity, the effective special region, inversion of the phototropic reaction in liquid paraffin, the negative light- growth reaction, the light-sensitive zone.
