STUDY, SIMULATION OF OCEANOGRAPHIC AND GEOPHYSICAL SPACE-SENSOR DISPLAYS

Abstract

Detailed analyses have been performed of the factors which affect the acquisition of geophysical data by earth-oriented satellites. These factors include geophysical, instrumental, and display. Based on these analyses, techniques for the simulation of satellite data and for the training of personnel participating in satellite geophysics are discussed. Devices useful for training have been conceptually designed. In particular, the design and use of an APT (Automatic Picture Transmission) simulator trainer are analyzed in detail. (Author)
