HYDRODYNAMIC TESTS OF HERCULES SEA UNIT XWO-2,

Abstract

The Lightweight Helicopter Remote Classification and Localization System (HERCULES) Sea Unit, XWO-2, was tested at the Naval Ship Research and Development Center circulating water channel. This latest design provides for paddles and hydrophone fairings and centroidal suspension. The hydrodynamic stability of the unit was considered satisfactory in water currents up to 2-1/2 knots.
