EXPERIMENTAL RADAR REMOTING MULTIPLEXER/DEMULTIPLEXER SET.

Abstract

An experimental radar remoting multiplexer/demultiplexer was built to work with RADC Miniature Microwave Manpack Radio Set. Tests and experimentation with this multiplexer demonstrate the feasibility of miniature portable radar remoting equipment for military use. Integrated circuits and the latest miniature components and circuit techniques were used in the design to obtain a small size, lightweight, and highly reliable equipment. Each basic system function is provided on a separate plug in module to afford flexibility in meeting varying requirements. Any function can be modified by plugging in a new module to meet new requirements. The multiplexer/demultiplexer set will be used to gain experience in tactical radar remoting prior to preparation of comprehensive specifications for future MIL specification multiplexers. (Author)
