A report on research and graduate medical education in Sweden. This document is Part 2 in a series. It comments on the mission and objectives of teaching hospitals in general and describes clinical physiological investigations in the subject department. They include the areas of diagnosis and functional assessment before and after therapy in cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases as well as studies on physical working capacity and physical training in military personnel.
