HAMARTOMA OF THE HEART,

Abstract

Primary tumors of the heart are seen so rarely that they are even seldom observed during autopsies. The reports that do appear in the literature are usually only individual observations. From the practical, clinical-medical point of view one does not need to be concerned with tumors of the heart because they appear so seldom. Among the primary tumors of the heart the rhabdomyomas predominate. Other types of heart tumors are observed only extremely rarely. For this reason it was believed necessary to report an important finding. This was not just a 'side-finding' as has been the case for all previous reports, but a patient died suddenly because of weakening of the heart. (Author)
