A 5-KILOCURIE COBALT-60 LARGE ANIMAL IRRADIATION FACILITY.

Abstract

The effects of high intensity gamma radiation of large animals can be studied in a 5000 curie Co60 facility that provides 4800 roentgens per hour at one meter from the source. Dose rates can be varied by partially exposing the source, by varying the distance from source to object, or by a combination of these. The irradiation facility is below grade and surrounded by an earth berm. The control building is above grade and outside the berm. (Author)
