INVESTIGATION OF THE SCALE EFFECT OF CAVITATION EROSION (UNTERSUCHUNG DES MASSTABEFFEKTES DER KAVITATIONSEROSION)

Abstract

The paper presents results achieved up to date and surveys the methodologic problems which are the bases of research on the scale effect of cavitation erosion. The theoretical bases of the laboratory research methods for investigating the scale effect, based on an energetic parameter, are critically dealt with. The authors describe the experimental gear and the conditions with the aid of which the energetic parameter and the similarity criterion of the erosion are determined. The possible errors of the measured values and the influence of the errors on the final experimental results are analyzed.
