A MEGAWATT L-BAND TRAVATRON FOR DIRECT GENERATION OF NANOSECOND PULSES

Abstract

A three megawatt, L-Band Travatron transmitter was designed and fabricated. The experimental model was delivered to RADC for extended tests and evaluation. The system produces 1.3 GHz RF pulses having quarter cycle rise time. Intrinsic coherency and an absence of time sidelobes. The system and preliminary performance measurements are described in this report.
