ORAL HEALTH DATA RECORDING FORM FOR COMPUTER PROCESSING.

Abstract

An oral health data recording form describing in detail the status of oral health of patients was developed. It was used to record information from the oral examinations of 210 patients in a form suitable for data processing. The data recorded on the ODF was transcribed to prepare a standard type of record. A comparison of this record was made to one formed directly from an examination. More data was recorded and recovered from the oral health data recording form than from the direct standard dental record in 110 cases. In 100 cases two similar standard dental records resulted when information from an oral examination was recorded simultaneously on a standard dental record and on an ODF for the subsequent transcription to a standard dental record.
