CALCULATION OF THE LARGE-SCALE HORIZONTAL EXCHANGE TENSOR (ZUR BERECHNUNG DES GROSSRAUMIGEN HORIZONTALEN AUSTAUSCHTENSORS),

Abstract

Techniques of stochastic physics are employed more often than before in dynamic meteorological studies, where heretofore deterministic techniques prevailed. The techniques of stochastic physics were illustrated in calculating the parameters in general, and the horizontal exchange tensor in particular, of horizontal turbulences in large air volumes. In such turbulences, the energy is being fed in at large volume with small velocity gradients and this is transformed into smaller volumes with large velocity gradients. The various intermediate conditions can be characterized by the analogy principle for the turbulence theory. (Author)
