BLADING DESIGN OF AN AXIAL COMPRESSOR (NAVRH LOPATKOVANI AXIALNIHO KOMPRESORU),

Abstract

To obtain the highest possible efficiency in blading axial compressors, without exciting undue dynamic forces and stresses, it is necessary to keep the flow velocity within the subsonic range. Conventional methods of analyzing flow conditions and the conclusions drawn from them fail to produce the optimal solution. If new types of axial compressors are to have better properties and to operate more economically, it is necessary to apply new methods of calculating the blading as well as the whole unit. New formulas are presented which give smaller compressor dimensions, a longer service life for the blading, and outstanding efficiency. (Author)
