POLARITY INTERFERENCE WITH PLANT CELLS BY ETHYLENE,

Abstract

The radial polarity in Vicia faba shoots was disturbed by ethylene. Two endoderms appear, one of them between the vascular bundles and the inner part of the core. Also a second, sideroots forming perizykel tissue result. The Kut insert of the membranes in range of the endoderm can be fully diffused on account of the radial polarity and can even develop on the core cells. The embryo insert also combines generally with escape of polarity to manifest itself in a tight proliferation of cells in the core. (Author)
