INDUSTRIAL ELECTROSYNTHESIS OF ORGANIC COMPOUNDS,

Abstract

Electrochemical methods are beginning to find uses in the synthesis of different classes of organic compounds with a high degree of purity. The processes of electrochemical synthesis in large-tonnage of some monomers are of special interest because of the possibility of using plentiful types of raw materials. Because of this, electrochemical methods of obtaining organic compounds seem economically feasible in some cases. A clear case is electrochemical production of adiponitrile, which at the present time, is being introduced on an industrial scale in a number of countries. (Author)
