THE INFLUENCE OF EARLINESS AND TARDINESS ON SOME WINTER WHEAT VARIETIES ON YIELD POTENTIAL AND ON PRODUCTION QUALITY IN THE AGROCLIMATIC CONDITIONS OF BANAT REGIUNE

Abstract

The production capacity of different varities of wheat was studied as a function of the majority of factors that determine it. The wheat varities studies were grown in the collection field of the Plant Improvement Laboratory of the Lovrin (Banat) Experimental Agricultural Station. The planting was accomplished using the grain to grain method at a distance of 18.5 centimeters each year in the period 1-10 October. The sprouting took place in the fall, but at times which differed from one variety to another but still assured tillering. During the vegetation period, numerous phenological observations were made.
