MOD - IMAGE REPRODUCTION CAMERA.

Abstract

This report summarizes a thorough investigation into those factors that limit the capabilities of process cameras to provide extremely high output resolution. This report provides recommendations to improve the performance of these cameras to meet 80 to 90 line pairs per millimeter requirements. The factors investigated include (1) vibration environment; (2) lenses; (3) focusing mechanisms; (4) shutter conditions; (5) film platens; (6) processing; (7) quality control. It was determined that the cameras needed refurbishing and that new lenses were required to meet minimum requirements. To provide for a capability to meet new future needs, newly-designed lenses are indicated as a requirement. (Author)
