Abstract

The report completes a series of six on Scandinavian facilities for research and medical education in clinical physiology. This report presents aspects of the organization, personnel and facilities resources, and program of selected clinical research facilities in western Sweden including Goteborg, Lund and Malmo. A survey of some specific research projects is presented in the areas of the clinical pharmacology of alpha- and beta-adrenergic receptor blocking agents; diagnostic usefulness of ultrasound cardiography reserach and development (advanced) in radiospirometry for regional lung function studies; hemodynamics and areteriography in cornary heart disease; microcirculation rheological and coagulation factors in experimental tumor metastases; and radioisotope clearance techniques for regional or organ blood flow determinations.
