THE NEAR SURFACE GEOLOGY AT ENIWETOK AND BIKINI ATOLLS.

Abstract

The available information on the geology at the Eniwetok and Bikini Atolls is summarized. It is concluded that the near surface (depths less than 100 ft) geology in the areas of interest is an unconsolidated saturated mixture of sand and gravel, occasionally interrupted by thin layers of competent beach rock.
