AN IMPROVED GRADIENT ALGORITHM FOR THE SOLUTION OF TWO-POINT BOUNDARY-VALUE PROBLEMS.

Abstract

The gradient method for solving two-point boundary-value problems is discussed and a modification of the gradient direction is proposed. An algorithm for efficiently determining the step size is also derived. Analytic and numerical examples illustrating the efficiency of the method are presented. (Author)
