MULTIFUEL THERMOELECTRIC GENERATORS.

Abstract

A family of thermoelectric generators is being developed to provide Army users in the field with electric power. The generators can operate on any liquid hydrocarbon fuel and are small, silent, and lightweight. Incorporated in a cylindrical casing are a fuel burner, blower and cooling fans, a thermoelectric pile, and the associated control and monitoring devices necessary for efficient operation of the generator. The generators are suitable for several applications, in both conventional and clandestine operations. Transportable either by a man or a vehicle, they can supply power for communication facilities anywhere in the field, or can be left unattended and yet operate reliably for beacons and surveillance radars.
