ENGINEERING METHOD FOR DETERMINING THE COMPLEX RADIATION DIAGRAM OF REFLECTOR ANTENNAS, PART I (EINE INGENIEURTECHNISCHE METHODE ZUR BESTIMMUNG DES KOMPLEXEN STRAHLUNGSDIAGRAMMS VON SPIEGELANTENNEN, TEIL I),

Abstract

The article presents a method by which the complex radiation diagram of most directional antennas can be determined. The necessary integrals are derived on the basis of the aperture field method and are shown here for the primary radiator as well as for the secondary radiator. The solution of the complex diagram is then accomplished by approximation which consists in representing the integrands in terms of partial functions. Three types of reflector antennas are considered, namely: a paraboloid of revolution, a symmetric cylindrical paraboloid and an inclined cylindrical paraboloid.
