INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON THE PHYSICS OF HIGH ENERGY (9TH) AT CRACOV (MIEDZYNARODOWA KONFERENCJA FIZYKI WYSOKICH ENERGII (9TH) W KRAKOWIE).

Abstract

An international conference on high-energy physics was held 24-29 September 1963, in Krakow, Poland. A total of 114 participants were present: 63 from Poland, 4 from Bulgaria, 3 from Communist China, 6 from Czechoslovakia, 9 from East Germany, 6 from Rumania, 7 from Hungary, and 16 from the USSR. This was the ninth conference of a series organized each year by physicists working in the field of high-energy nuclear physics. Seventy reports were presented concerning interactions between high-energy particles in accelerators interactions between nuclear particles of cosmic radiation, large beams of cosmic radiation, and problems of methods and instrumentation in the field of high-energy physics. The majority of the reports were concerned with experimental work; only a few were concerned with theory. Introductory reports on the theory of strong interactions at high energies and on new types of high-energy small-size accelerators were presented by Ye. L. Feinberg from Moscow and G. I. Budker from Novosibirsk. (Author)
