STUDIES IN THE MECHANISM OF ANTIBODY FORMATION WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO ANTIBODY PRODUCTION PROMOTING FACTOR (A.P.P.). PART 1. INFLUENCE OF THE A.P.P. ON THE PRECIPITIN PRODUCTION IN RABBITS

Abstract

The following is the conclusion on the influence of the A.P.P. on the albumin precipitin production in rabbit: When A.P.P. is administered to rabbit with albumin antigen, it increases both the value (titer) and the quantity of precipitin, and it also shortens the latency period of precipitin formation. There is no direct parallel relationship between the value or titer and the quantity of precipitin in the same immunized rabbit.
